Zinc plated material will meet or exceed ASTM F1941, and it will add excellent corrosion resistance to the washer. Hot-Dip Galvanized material will meet or exceed ASTM A153, and the galvanization process will also provide better overall durability and longevity.
When paired with an appropriately sized screw or bolt, 1⅞ flat washers will help to distribute the fastener load over a wide surface, which strengthens the hold and reduces the likelihood of slippage.
