Viking VK560 K8.0 Standard Response Upright Sprinkler with Water Shield

The Viking VK560 K8.0 Standard Response Upright Sprinkler with Water Shield is engineered for commercial and industrial fire suppression assemblies, including wet pipe and in-rack configurations. Designed specifically for complex storage environments like multi-level rack systems, this upright sprinkler incorporates an integrated water shield and shroud. This barrier protects the thermal activation element from overhead water discharge, preventing premature or false activations while ensuring reliable thermal response during a fire event.

This component satisfies the installation and design mandates outlined in NFPA 13 for the protection of rack storage configurations. It carries both UL Listing and FM Approval certifications to satisfy commercial building codes and life safety compliance requirements.

Key Features & Construction

• Durable Brass Body: Fabricated from high-quality brass to withstand mechanical wear and resist corrosion in demanding industrial facilities.
• Integrated Water Shield: Deflects water from upper sprinkler levels to prevent premature thermal element activation and accidental system discharge.
• 360-Degree Distribution: Optimized spray pattern delivers uniform water coverage to manage fires effectively within dense storage arrangements.
• K-Factor 8.0 Standard Response: Balances thermal activation timing with controlled water delivery rates for targeted suppression.
• Versatile Frame Integration: Compatible with standard frame designs used across commercial and industrial fire protection grids.
