The Viking VK286 QR Large Orifice Quick Response Dry Pendant Fire Sprinkler is engineered for reliable fire suppression in commercial, industrial, and residential environments subject to freezing conditions. Designed for installation in dry pipe and preaction fire suppression systems, this assembly extends into unheated spaces while keeping water and condensation safely back out of the piping until thermal activation occurs. This prevents freeze-related pipe failures and maintains immediate system readiness in cold climates.
This unit satisfies strict code-compliance frameworks, holding UL Listings and FM Approvals while meeting the installation mandates governed by NFPA 13 for specialized hazard and cold-storage applications. The integrated thermosensitive fusible link rapidly detects high heat for early suppression, while the large orifice discharge opening maximizes water delivery and hydraulic coverage compared to standard-orifice sprinklers.
- Dry Pendant Configuration: Isolates the water supply from unheated zones to eliminate freezing risks in cold environments.
- Quick Response Technology: Thermosensitive fusible link detects elevated temperatures rapidly for early fire suppression.
- Large Orifice Design: Enlarged discharge opening maximizes water flow and expands fire control coverage.
- Durable Construction: Built with corrosion-resistant materials to withstand challenging operational conditions.
- Certified Compliance: UL Listed, FM Approved, and fully compliant with NFPA 13 installation requirements.
