For screws with a diameter of ¼ to 2 ½ inches, the hardness rating is HRC 33-39. The hardness rating of screws over 2 ½ inches ranges from HRC 31-39. The Grade 8 material ensures this hex cap fastener meets or exceeds various ASTM and SAE standards.
